In the 1950's BMC asked Donald Healey to design an affordable small 2-seater sports car. The result was the 1958 Sprite, a car that bought sports car driving to the mass market and started a whole new trend. With its funny grin and pop-eyed headlights the 'Frogeye' captured the hearts of enthusiasts the world over. The monocoque structure was unique at the time giving this little car amazing road holding and making it such a joy to drive. Over the years the ever improving Austin-Healey Sprite and MG Midget range kept the original idea very much alive, but it is the quirky little 'Frogeye' that still most captures the spirit of the time and has the most 'fun' appeal.
